Playoffs are similar to single elimination. The difference is that in playoffs a team plays more than one game per round.
The winner of a round is determined when one of the teams accumulates a certain amount of wins.
Go to 'Playoff List' page and click 'Create Playoff button as shown below
Playoff record has only 2 required fields: Name and Season. All other fields are optional. Combination of Name and Season must be unique. If you save Playoff with the same Name and Season that already exists you will get a duplicate record warning. Once Playoff is created it is assigned 'Registration' status.
It means that Playoff is open for new participants. Your next step is to add participants.
Go to 'Playoffs' tab and select a Playoff from the list or find it using search.
On the selected Playoff page click 'Add' button in the participants section
On the next screen use 'Quick Add' or select and add existing participants from the list.

'Starting a Playoff' means changing its status from 'Registration' to 'Started/In Progress'.
When you 'start playoff' it locks your ability to change(add/remove) tournament participants.
Go to 'Playoffs' page and select Playoff from the list of find it using search.
Click 'Copy' link from Navigation section. Select new Playoff name and Season.
When you copy a Playoff all Playoff Players or Teams are copied as well.
Results and scheduled dates are not copied. Newly copied Playoff will have 'Registration' status.
You can publish Playoff from Grid/Bracket/Standings page.
Click publish button. This feature is available for professional and custom plans.
When Playoff is published it becomes accessible to everyone via public url.
Each published Playoff has unique url. You can integrate published Playoff into any website or blog. Search this help for examples.
Go to 'Playoffs' page and select Playoff from the list of find it using search.
Update any of the Playoff's fields:
Playoff Name, season, notes, access type, participation fee. Make sure that combination of Name and Season is unique. If you try saving Playoff with the same Name and Season that already exists you will get a duplicate record warning.
Go to 'Playoffs' page and find existing Playoff in the list then click delete link.
Go to 'Playoffs' page and find existing Playoff and click on the edit Playoff link.
If you have added players before you will see a list of players with checkboxes next to them.
Uncheck players and click 'Save' button. Unchecked players will be deleted.
Playoff must have 'Registration' status. If Playoff has different status you can not remove players.
Go to 'Playoffs' page and find existing Playoff and click on the edit Playoff link.
If you have added teams before you will see a list of teams with checkboxes next to them.
Uncheck players and click 'Save' button. Unchecked teams will be deleted.

Go to 'Playoffs' page. In the search box type Playoff name or season or notes. Click 'Search'.
Search results will be displayed below.
If you are searching by status - select existing status from drop down list and click search.
If you are searching by type - select existing type from drop down list and click search.
If you collect Playoff participation fees you need to track it.
There is a way to keep tabs on who made the payments. Go to 'Playoffs' page and select Playoff from the list of find it using search.
Set the amount you want to collect from each team/player and click 'Save'. Then you will see input fields against each participant (team or player). Use these fields to record/track who made the payments. If you create custom Playoff website we can set you up to collect fees using Google checkout.
You have an option to shuffle/randomize participants of
your playoffs. Your Playoff must have 'Registration' status. Where do I find this feature? Go to Playoff edit page Then click on 'Add' Link It will take you to Playoff Roster Page On this page you can add/remove participants and shuffle them.
There is a limit of Playoffs that you are allowed to have depending on your subscription plan.
As soon as you are over the limit you will see a warning and
you will not be able to add additional records. If you need to add more Playoffs you need to upgrade your subscription.
For each subscription plan there are different limits for the
number of teams per Playoff or (participants per Playoff for singles Playoffs) If you sign up for Basic/Free Plan you can create tournament with maximum of 4 participants. Advanced Plan allows tournaments with maximum 16 participants. Professional Plan allows tournaments with 64 participants. Customized Plan allows tournaments with 128 participants. |
